Testimony:
I grew up in Southern California, where my father, a first generation Polish immigrant, refused to attend church based on a bad experience with a Catholic Priest. I became a Christian as a college student after an aggressive pursuit of meaning in life prompted by a close friend’s suicide. My pursuit of the medical profession was a spiritual calling, and I feel extremely privileged to be involved in caring for patients, and perhaps more importantly, influencing young physicians to stay true to the profession. I find great reward in pursuing knowledge which is of practical nature and influences patient care in a short cycle basis. I feel I have the best of all worlds being involved in an academic environment with young, aggressive minds constantly causing me to reflect on treatment decisions, conduct of my own professional life, and how to advance the profession. My constant goal is to try to weave my faith into day-to-day life, having an impact on decisions across all realms of my professional life. |
